I have visited the Community page to look for previous responses to this message popping up but they don’t address my question. The information I am providing refers to what is happening on my wife’s PC. Gmail is her default email. Always has been.
She first noticed this message popping up about two weeks ago. It is random and can happen one or more times a day. She did do a quick repair but did not go into the registry to delete the Outlook information beforehand. But I’m not sure why she would have to do this as she doesn’t use Outlook mail. I have the same identical computer as, both purchased at the same time.
We have a Microsoft Office Subscription on both machines. My computer never gives this message. Hers does. The only other difference is that she uses the Firefox browser and I use Chrome. Google Calendar is our default calendar. Our computers are up to date with current Windows 10 updates.

To the extent I understand you, you’re describing a Windows problem that is unrelated to Outlook or Microsoft It seems to me that the reason that the message you describe appears is that something is attempting to send email.
If the person using the computer isn’t doing it, then perhaps there is some malware that is attempting to “phone home” with some purloined information. I also saw one post where some version of iTunes had a “phone home” feature that caused a similar problem. Give it a day or so and then open Outlook and take a look at the outbox. If there’s a pending outgoing message there, it may give you a clue about what is generating it. You have a 3rd party application that is trying to use outlook.
According to a visitor to the forum on my website, a windows update caused it and repairing office fixes it. It will not delete your existing Office settings or your Outlook profile and data files. Thank you. I thought that might be the case. It is just an annoyance now.
When I update Office the next time I’ll check it out. We did try the repair action but it is still popping up occasionally. Thanks again. In reply to Jaenise’s post on September 29, LemP Volunteer Moderator. It pops up for no rhyme nor reason. I understand the issue of clicking on a website and having a mail server pop up. I know how to fix that. This message she receives has nothing to do with this. The box just randomly appears like it is giving a warning. I have no idea why this is occurring.
